Smokey and the Bandit disc review needed
If anyone has this disc, could you tell me the audio & video quality? I know that it's not anamorphic, but is the picture watchable or not (grain, artifacts)? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Also, does anyone know where it can be bought for less than the $20 that I see it for everywhere? Thanks.

Technical Review...
Technically, this disc is an excellent transfer even
though it's not anamorphic. The dvd presents the
film in its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The colors
are nicely rendered considering the age of the film,
with deep blacks and a 2.0 mono soundtrack that is
crisp and without distortion. Edge enhancement and
artifacting are not visible in the transfer. Overall, this
disc IS THE BEST that SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT has
ever looked and sounded.
A must own dvd for fans of this classic flick.

This was one of my first DVDs, a real guilty pleasure, too. My wife doesn't think highly of it, but I don't think too highly of her Kenneth Branagh obsession either.
