Personally the visuals in the dreamworld and dream sequences were really cool I thought, but oh my god! Could the storyline get any worse as it went on! Horrible! It's too bad as I enjoyed the effects....luckily I just rented it....didn't waste my money on that one!

It's my least favorite movie so far of 2001.

I've just finish watching Monkeybone. The movie is quite bizarre. The story was weak, but the visuals and dream sequences were amazing. There are some good laughs but only a few. Overall, Monkeybone is an average rental and nothing else. I wouldn't waste my money on this one.

I rented last night and wasn't as disappointed with it as I thought I would be.
Sure the story sucked, but I just forgot about that and watched the movie... and laughed a few times. Really, I'm not kidding...
I was expecting more stop-motion animation (ala Nightmare Brfore Christmas) and less costumes... but I liked the "demented theme-park" approach.
Watching the feature Monkeybone Revealed was very intertaining and insightful... but the part I liked the best was the deleted/extended scenes...
It really changed the movie for me... into something that was more coherent and easier to follow.
I wouldn't buy it personally, but I wouldn't turn it down if someone gave it to me as a gift.
... and was I only one who laughed at the art on the DVD? Hilarious!
