I commend you on your bravery to reccomend a movie which did not fare well at the box office and with people in general. Welcome to the forum.
I hope it's good I ordered it to get free shipping from
Amazon.

I vehemently disagree. This is the worst film I have rented on DVD in recent memory.
It was a boring, cynical exercise in violence and sadistic posturing, with totally idiotic or bland characterizations, no story worth mentioning, and unbelievably atrocious dialogue.
I think it deserved to flop and I suppose if you happen to like the film (why?) the DVD is worth picking up for the extras, such as Christopher McQuarrie's commentary.
I never want to see or even THINK about this 'film' again.

Wow, Jepthah said all the negative things I was thinking about this film. I like the opening scene. I like Benicio. I like Caan. The movie pretty much sucks. There are actually 2 commentaries - the other, basically telling us how honored he was to have the job and how close he was to the director, is by the music guy. There are several very interesting scenes I will probably go back to (like the car chase where they stop and coast). I'm keeping it - in a couple of years I might watch it again and change my mind.
