No one seems to have a review of this early movie. Even though its a flipper, it IS Anamorphic.

Anyone?

the quality is good, but it looks kind of dated compared to more modern movies. (it's definitely not from the earth to the moon). I'd probably rent it, unless you're a huge fan of the history of the space program.

This is a fantastic movie if you're interested in the early history of the space race. It won a couple of academy awards, I believe (in fact, I believe it won best picture the year it came out). For such an early release, I was amazed when I popped the disc in and found out it was anamorphic!! Unfortunately, because it's such a long movie and double-layered DVDs weren't out by the time this movie was released it is a flipper disc.

The performances by everyone in this movie are great and the story, while a little drawn-out, is captivating. It's also very funny at times. This is a DVD definitely worth owning.

This is indeed a film for NASA freaks. I watched this movie as a prelude to "From the Earth to the Moon", and it makes an excellent companion piece to that miniseries. Recommended.

I couldn't agree more. The Right Stuff is a wonderful film that goes very well with From the Earth to the Moon. Add Apollo 13 to that list and it rounds it out.

I love watching the FTETTM episode on Apollo 13 and then watching the movie Apollo 13

The Right Stuff is one of the most underrated classics of all time. Living in Ireland I have the Region 2 version of the movie and really couldn't be happier with the presentation - a nice anamorphic transfer along with an excellent 5.1 soundtrack. Granted the disc is a flipper but considering the film is 3 hours in length this is no big deal. A good job from Warner's, the disc comes highly recommended.

I think Shaggy summed things up well. One thing nobody mentioned is that this movie gives a little credit to the few who really went to great lengths so that the many could benefit. I liked the fact that these men were given credit and feel that for that reason alone it is worth giving respect enough to give it a watch.
