Great movie. Overall this movie incorporated a lot of storylines from the Star Wars and Star Trek franchises and were able to pull it off wonderfully.

The deleted scene's were awesome, especially since they mixed drawings with the actual scene's in the final version. The commentary wasn't that great (but I'm not a fan of those anyways) but the music videos and the Fox special was neat. This disc also comes with a Thx test for your home theatre system.

My fav character was Gung. Will definatly own this one.

Great Movie

I bought this movie when it first came out with out seeing the movie at the theatres. I loved this movie. DTS sound is amazing. The bass is very full and you are able to hear the dialogue clearly from the center channel. If you don't own it - you need to go buy it.

I was astoundingly disappointed with this film. However, there is no disputing the excellence of this disc's audio presentation.

Everyone I know loves Titan A.E.

I love the movie, my son does, my wife was impressed and all my friends have borrowed it(some bought there own after watching it).

My favorite scene was the "Space Ice". The combo of the Audio and Visual was the best I have ever seen on a DVD. This movie is one of the DVDs I have watch the most over the past year(it was one of the 1st movie I bought after getting my Sony 360).

If you love Sci-Fi, you have a 95% chance of loving Titan A.E.

Check out the following review, it confirms what I said about the Picture and Sound quality.

I saw it in the theater last year and was very disappointed too. My main complaints:

The animation: although the CGI backgrounds were great, the 2D hand-drawn characters were rather poorly done and and didn't mix well with the backgrounds.

The music: the rock soundtrack was pretty annoying and seemed really out of place in the movie.

And, most disappointing of all, the story:

I thought the story didn't really make any sense. In particular, why...
Spoiler:
... were the Drej so obssessed with the Titan? In the beginning, they destroyed the Earth because of the Titan, yet all the Titan can do is create another Earth. This plot-point is a bit of circular logic that really doesn't add up: the Drej destroy the Earth because they didn't want the humans to create another Earth. If it had been explained that the Drej was trying to wipe out the human race, it would have made sense. But, instead, the Drej were all just focused on only destroying the Titan. Plus, if the Drej could destroy the original Earth so easily, what's to stop them from destroying the new Earth as well? Which means the Titan was no threat to them, so their relentless pursuit to destroy it makes absolutely no sense.

And why did the father give his son the only key that could start up the Titan? It really seems stupid to put the human race's future in the hands of a young boy who didn't even know what he had. It's such an incredibly contrived plot-point, that I'm surprised that it got into the final film.

And then the action of Korso (Bill Pullman) made no sense. First he's helping the kid, and then he double-crosses the kid, and then he's helping the kid again. His character flipped sides so often, I began to suspect he was schizophrenic.

This was a movie I really wanted to like. I was warned that the story was weak before seeing it, so I thought I was prepared. But then it turned out to be weaker than I thought it could possibly be. Although some of the actions scenes looked good, without a good story to give the scenes any weight, they don't have much dramatic impact.

The Drej wanted to destroy the titan because the drej are made of pure energy, and the titan basically uses drej to power itself

The father didn't give the kid the only ring, cuz if he did then his father would have never be able to fly the thing off of earth

And bill pulman's char wasn't helping in the begining, he was always out for himself till the very end when he had a change of heart.

But, why does everything have to make perfect sense? It's a cartoon for kids and maybe preteens as the target audience.. I think anything else would have been too boring for the folks they made the movie for

And I liked the metaly soundtrack too

I'm a huge sci-fi and animation fan and, while I didn't think Titan A.E. was flat out bad, the film didn't really keep me interested at all. In fact, I just rewatched it last week to see if my initial feelings were on the mark and, yep, they were. I'm not dogging the film as it obviously has its fans but I'm just saying that even some hard core sci-fi fans found it to be rather forgettable.
