Sorry wrong link this is the right link. The other was to another stereo I was looking at. Here is the correct link to the 1000 watt stereo for 167.99 is it a junk or a deal?

The 1000watts is a meaningless number. Even admits it in the auction.

I would also have second thoughts about a system that does not seem to have a real mfr name on it, but labels the sub as SUBWOOFER. Are the speakers labelled SPEAKER?

I couldn't see if he lists the real power rms value on the auction. Check his other auctions. There is a 4160W system he is selling. Look at that one and it's real rms power output.

This is the guy's website that's selling it: http://www.consumer-wholesale.com/

I'd be wary. I don't think it's 5.1, as it states it is 5.1 ready which means it doesn't decode but can pass that signal through.

He's selling a 5.1 system on his website for $199 + free shipping and what appears to be the same one, but white for $188 and no free shipping. A Dolby Prologic system for $189.

I haven't seen these for sale anywhere, and obviously no brand name. But, I have seen many a Korean stereo for sale at the swapmeet, and these have that look. If they are Korean, stay away. From my experience, the home and car speakers I've used or seen sound like garbage and the receivers/players are usually very tinny sounding.

Check out his website and compare some of the similar things they sell. It could be good, who knows? See if the site has a return policy to back you up. I'd stay clear of Ebay if you can buy it directly from them online.

Let us know if it's any good.

P.M.P.O

Lets put it in simpler terms than the car analogy the seller uses.

It will hit 1000watts for a nanosecond at most, if ever!

99.99999% of the time you be right around the RMS wattage, which is mysteriously missing from his specs.

I can almost guarantee a gerbil on a tredmill could produce more wattage than this system.

I would definitely skip this deal and any other deal that mention P.M.P.O. You would be better off buying a HT in a box from Curcuit or Best Buy.

At least the guy is honest and blatantly states that P.M.P.O means absolutelt nothing

Ok I am bored and curious!

I looked at his site and I found this from a different system:

P.M.P.O: 1,066 Watts

Left 6 Watts RMS* (156W PMPO) with 3.5mm jack
Right 6 Watts RMS* (156W PMPO) with 3.5mm jack
Center 6 Watts RMS* (156W PMPO) with 3.5mm jack
Surround 4+4 Watts RMS* (208W PMPO) with 3.5mm jack
Subwoofer 15 Watts RMS* (390W PMPO) into built-in speaker

Actual wattage: 41 watts

Continuous individual channel output. Depending on the program material, the wattage is much greater. Remember, the only true test is how it sounds to you.

Man imagine if you bridged the amp or hook some speakers in parallel what this system could do

LMAO..

PMPO..or.. PIMP Output...for that Pimp-n-Ho Stereo effect.

What a load...
no pun intended.

I would rather get a cheap name brand that puts out less power anyway. What difference would power make if it sounds crappy?
