I'm having problems playing DTS tracks on my system. Both my panasonic DVD player and my Onkyo receiver have DTS capability, yet every DTS track I play seems to have audio problems. The DTS track plays but it seems to skip every few minutes or so like a scratched record will. I've tried 5 or 6 movies with the same result, although Gladitor worked perfectly which really confuses me. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

#1) Check your connections...

#2) Which model is your player? Could be a player specific problem...

Could be scratches or even fingerprint on the disc...check that...

I played gladiator once and it had a few playback audio problems, cleaned the disc, and it all went away..
try it..

I'd also check the digital connection. If it's loose, bent, or damaged, the digital signal might drop out like that, espectially if you're using an optical cable.

Try doing a search for Onkyo and DTS problems. I recall there being a thread a while back about people with Onkyo receivers (575s I believe) that were having problems with DTS playback and I also believe it had something to do with the Cinema Re-EQ. Hope this helps and good luck!

As TonyS said, it is almost certainly gonna be the Re-EQ setting. Turn it off if it is on. It's only something the dealers use I believe when they hook it to big speakers, bigger than you are most likely to have athome. But do a search do get the answer for sure.

I was one of the original posters on this!

And it was because I had the same problem. Set your speakers to "large" and turn "RQ" off. This should correct your problems.
