You all must hate me by now...but you know more than everyone else, so I have to keep picking your brains...

Does a 3-way speaker do what it implies -- send an audio signal 3 different ways (forward, left, right)?

No.

A 3-way speaker has 3 drivers. Generally: tweeter, mid-range, and woofer.
