I will apologize for my lack of brains for asking this question.

What is the advantage to owning or getting your DVD player region modified to play all regions? Are the discs that different in other regions, are the release dates different, do they have additional material that R1 wouldn't
normally get? I'm generally not this naive when it comes to this stuff, but I just can't figure it out.

Are there problems with modified machines, once the chips are put in? Is it
worth getting this done? Any opinions would help. Thanks all.
