I was wondering if laptops are really made for constant dvd playing or should I get one of the portable dvd players on the market made specifically for watching dvds? I just don't want to burn out a laptop or break it by playing dvds on it alot. thanks

You may also want to try your question in the DVD-ROM & PC forum. I cannot think of any reason why a laptop would not be as durable and robust as a portable DVD player, although there are several other differences to consider, such as video output and power consumption.

Windows.

Seriously, I don't know why anyone would buy a portable player when a laptop doesn't cost that much more, unless you're going to use the portable to dock into your HT.
