Okay folks,

I've been searching for a good Home Theatre in a Box for the last few months or so after getting my DVD player and have jumped around from wanting the JVC package to the Kenwood HTB 303 to the Kenwood 403 and finally to the one that everyone seems to deam the best out there, the Kenwood HTB 503. Now, out on my search today I found a little store here that seemed to be marketing a huge deal of Kenwood components. Here is the low down:

VR-407 RECEIVER (the same one that comes with the HTB-503)
-100W Per Channel
-KAM-1 Power Amplifier
-24 Bit DD/DTS/Pro Logic
-6 Channel inputs
-4 Digital inputs
etc.

SE-303 POWERED SUBWOOFER
-8" Subwoofer
-Built in 100W Power Amp
-High/Low Level imputs
-Volume Control
-Magnetically sheilded
etc.

CRS-159 SURROUNED SPEAKER PACKAGE
http://www.kenwood.co.jp/i/products/...me/crs159.html
-Center & Surround Package
-Dual full range Center Speaker and 100W Maximum handling
-Full range surrounds with 100W max handling

JL-558 3 Way Floor Standing Speakers
http://www.kenwood.co.jp/i/products/...ome/jl558.html
-100W maximum input power
-Bass-reflex, floor-standing system
-Push-lever terminals
-Frequency response: 40Hz - 20kHz
-Crossover frequency: 2,000Hz, 5,000Hz
-Speaker impedance: 8 ohms

Now, I am in Canada and the Kenwood 503 is $799. Now, get this, this package above is the EXACT SAME PRICE! Am I a nut not to jump on this as quick as I would Pam Anderson?
I am really not familier with all the technical jargon but, basically, is it all worth it. What can I expect. I heard a demo with the Eagles Hell Freezes Over disc and it sounded like I was in the audience. Now, I have read on some sites that the surrounds only carry 40w but, again, I might be reading that wrong. Maybe you can clear it up. Will this be something that lasts for a while?

What do you think?

Thanks in advance,

QJ

P.S. - HEre is another link I was able to find for a CD System that had the same speakers:

If you are looking for a Home Theater In a Box, the Kenwood is definitely the one to get right now. We had a Pioneer HTB in our labs, and were quite dissappointed with it. Since that time, I've listened to the 503 and it was a drastic improvement. I'm not a huge fan of HTB, but this one is a good one.

Thanks guys but I am searching for a little more information. I know Kenwood makes good products as I have read all the glowing reviews of the HTB-503 and such here.

This, however, is not the HTB-503. To me, it seems to be the 503 with better speakers (not to mention tower speakers). I am unsure however, if this is the case or if these speakers are not as good or just the same as the 503s components. So, add this to the list of questions above: is that the case? How are these speakers compared to the 503? The woofer?

Thanks again,

QJ
