Is there any Universal remote that will control my Sharp DV-600 DVD Player? I bought the Radio Shack 15-1994 6-in-1 today and I got it to control my TV, VCR, and DishNetwork but I can't seem to get it to control my DVD player. Do I just need to buy a new DVD player?

Thanks for the help,

Matt

You might try searching on http://www.remotecentral.com to see if anybody there has the codes for your player.

I found TONS of info on the same remote there for my setup.

Good luck

Thanks for the help, but I've already tried that. That was actually the first place I checked, but there are too many millions of messages to try to sort through.

Also, I was wondering if anyone else ever had this problem with this DVD Player model. I can't imagine I'm the only person who has this player and the Remote SUCKS!!

I have this DVD player and I hate the remote. I purchased the Ciniema 7 Universal remote and I have been able to program basic functions using the remotes learning ability. It is not really a great solution but it is the best I have come up with. The remote also controls my Dishnetwork box, Toshiba VCR, Hitiachi TV, Techniecs Reciever, and my sony CD Changer. My wife is happy with only one remote.

I had this player(it was my first player) but it would skip and freeze quite often. The remote being such a POS made me decide to get a better player and I sold mine on ebay for like $150. I then bought a Toshiba SD1200 that while good wasn't great. Sold that on ebay for like $180. I finally found a player that I'm happy with shortly after I sold the toshiba(Sony DVP-S360). I second the idea of making your remote learn the functions. My friend did that with his Philips player which also came with a bad remote and it(the learning remote that is) works fine.

I know what you mean about Sharp remotes. A few months ago I bought a Sharp 32" tv and the remote is just CRAP. Worst one I have ever saw, however the tv iteself is rather nice for the cheap price. The back on the remote won't stay on and I must find a nice universal remote. I know nothing about Sharp dvd players, however. Just my two cents.
