I have a HDTV. Right now, I subscribe to Time Warner's Digital Cable service, which I have hooked up to the analog input (cable) on the back of the TV. I just read an article on digital converters saying that whatever leaves the 'tower' can be received by a digital converter. My question is if a digital converter can convert a cable analog signal into an HDTV signal? Or are digital converters used solely for satellite signals?

Thanks.

Just because the signal is digital does not make it HDTV. The HDTV signal is a completly different thing. I know that right now, most all digital cable providers do not, or can not send the HDTV signal over their digital cable. Once the do start transmitting the signal you will need a new box to convert the HDTV signal. Currently you can only get HDTV from satelite or with a roof top antenna and your need a HDTV receiver to get the signal.
