Anyone know if there are any programs out there that would allow you to use a computer to control devices ( i.e. power up, change channel, volume control, etc..) on a Home Theater set up?

Are you looking for an IR solution? Or are you interested in home automation?

I'm not an expert on HTPCs (Home Theater Personal Computers), but people here are:

You should be able to get any HTPC question you have answered there.
