help! dvd player is dead

got a pionner dv-414 came home and my sister said she was watching a movie and she tried to eject the dvd and the door does not come out,movie does not play anymore ,help if you have any ideas....thanks

That's funny because I was at my friend's house and his dad has the Pioneer 414 and it won't let me open it up. Damn must be a player flaw.

Try unplugging it and then plug it back in, if you havent already. I have a cd player that sometimes will not eject and this does the trick.

If that doesnt work, you have a problem.

i have tried everything ,thank god i got a playstation 2 as a back up, but miss my 5.1 surrond sound...will take in tommorow ,will it be cheaper if i buy a new one or try to fix this one

If you have a digital optical in on your receiver then all you need to do is connect an optical cable in order to get 5.1 from your PS2.

Does the blue light just flash when the LED is saying stop and then the LED goes blank but the blue light keeps flashing?

My DV414 has had this problem 4 times! 3 of the 4 times I had to take it in for service under the warranty. the 4th time I called Pioneer and complained and they are sending me a refurb DV414 as a replacement.

Hope this helps.

BTW, the only way to get the disk out is to open the box and remove the screws on the top of the caddy assembly that hold the disk on place.
