I think I posted this question within another thread, but I can't find it, so don't know if it was answered or not.

I have a KLH powered sub (yeah, I know, some of you don't like KLH, but this one sounds good in my room). The sub has an on-auto-off switch, and I've connected it via a coax with RCA tips. Recently, it started burping about every two seconds when left in either the -auto- or -off position when there is no incoming signal from the receiver. I'm using the coax because it eliminated the hum (bleed from near-by wiring).

1) Why is it burping?
2) Is it okay to leave it on all the time?

Your help would be appreciated.

i have a KLH 10" subwoofer. i've found that if there are loose connections on either end of the subwoofer, it will burp. to prove this theory, just plug in the audio into the sub and tap the unplugged end that's supposed to go into the TV. i often leave my sub on, but when i use the headphones on my stereo or TV, the sub is still going, so i find it easier sometimes just to unplug it.

I tried the loose connection fix over the weekend, with no luck. I unplugged the connection, replugged it, and five minutes later, burp.....burp.....burp.

Any other advice?

always on

I'd just set it to always on.

I changed my sub (Boston VR500) to always on a while back. It seemed like at low volume levels (which I do a lot of now with a baby), the sub would not kick on.
With it always on I don't have that problem. If there is a signal in the cable, I get sound from the sub.
It said right in my manual, if you are having trouble with sub not turning on, jsut leave it on.
