i bought the machine and i was wondering what kind of setting should i use for sound. i have two klh speakers, nothing great, but it sounds weak. i know my speakers are cheap, but does anyone have any idea what setting to use to maximize the sound with the speakers i already have and what do you have it set on. thanks

I have the 509 and all KLH speakers. Not much you can really do to "customize" the sound, it more a matter of balancing everything depending on how your speakers are placed in your setup. For stereo sources I have my bass at +6 and the treble at -2. In surround modes the bass and treble controls don't affect the sound. As for surround modes, I've found all the DSP and Enhanced Surround modes to be useless. Just use standard surround and loudness if you want extra bass and midnight mode if you want to minimize the bass and increase the surround effect.

Also, for my powered sub I have the receiver cross over set to 100 Hz, the LFE attenuation to 0, and all speakers set to small.
