I did a search-so sorry if this has been asked before. I got the onkyo 575 and toshiba 1600--when i try to play a dts dvd I have no sound! yet if i set it to stereo I have sound. I got the onkyo because it has dts decoder, the 1600 has a dts out--so what am I doing wrong?

Are you using a Digital Coax cable or an digital optical cable? Without these you won't be able to decode the DTS or Dolby Digital coming from your DVD player.

well i got sound now-when i play appollo13 and choose the dts sound. except the display on the receiver says pro logic? theres also a dolby digital light on. the manual says to push the dts button--but that doesn't seem to work. yes i have the digital coax .
any other ideas or suggestions would greatly help--as you can tell i've never hooked this stuff up before--thanks---steve

I have the same receiver. You must be sure that your player set-up menu is set for DD and DTS output. Also, your receiver must be set to receive a digital signal. You may use optical, or digital coax to transfer the signal from the player to the 575. Just be sure the 575 knows it's a digital signal.

You can also try switching the DSP from pro-logic to DTS.

ok now i'm getting really frustrated. i have the digital coax going from the dvd to receiver---the dvd set for dts--the analog on the reciever set to digital coax 1. ok now i see the prologic lit--the dolby digital lit on the top with red square around it--i try to push the dts button but get the same display? i use the dsp's get orchestra-stereo---yadda yadda -but no lights say dts--is this correct? please help!
thanks again--steve
