Here's the thing....I ordered gladiator back on Nov 21st, 2000. I hadent watched it yet (I know hard to believe) just because ive been backed up on other titles becasue ive been getting too many in. Anyway,I just opened it up to watch it this weekend and towards the middle it starting freezing and jumping back to title 1 it happened every time, and not just at this one spot.

Anyway, I have a Sony DVP-S330, I havent tried it in my roommates Panasonic yet to see if it works, but the disk itself is fine, no scratches. So im just wondering if this has happened to anyone. I suppose I could always call amazon and try and get a new one( do they put up much of a struggle with things like that?) But if it works upstairs then I guess its something with my player...hopefully it doesnt work (knock on wood)

I have the same DVD player and I also had a problem with gladiator this weekend. I'm getting crackling from the rear speakers when watching in DTS mode. Doesn't happen in DD. Don't know if its the player or receiver(JVC-6500) or the Disc?

A friend of mine has the same player, and it kept locking up during Mallrats right before Brody's airplane speech during the game show. The movie locked up and jumped to the beginning three or four times. I am glad to say that I own a Panasonic A120 and have never had a problem with any movie.

I would try to exchange it for another one.

Iron Chef..try and exchange the player or Gladiator..I would have to go back ot amazon for gladiator..do they allow returns that easily?

Try Gladiator in the Panasonic. If it locks up that player, then try to exchange the movie for a new one. I apologize for not clarifying that earlier.

I just tried it upstairs and it did the same thing, so its not a machine specific problem so I called amazon and am going to return it. That should take care of it.
