My PS2 is my primary DVD player, and it used to work fine, but lately, with newer and older DVDs, it has been saying "Unable to Read Disk" right after or during the layer change. It doesn't do this on every disk, but it has done it on Brazil CC, The Cell, and most recently with The X-Files DTS. I tried them all in my DVD-Rom. The Cell worked fine, Brazil worked a little after the layer change, but still messed up, and X-Files had a short problem with the voice sync, but it corrected it self in a minute or two. Do you think that the laser can wear out because of extended use? Has anyone else seen this problem with the PS2? If you have does it effect the games at all? (I don't use it for games very much)
