I've seen people talking about something called a "DVDO" ? What is this? I've been reading that some people are using this thing and keeping their old interlaced dvd players and are throwing raves over the picture queslity you get. It's called "DVDO Iscan + line doubler", is this better the progressive or just another way of doing it? I am thinking of getting the Toshiba SD6200 (upgrading from my SONY DVPS550D), in order to benefit from Progressive scan. Is it really worth it or will I be okay?

I am not sure where I stand in regards to the right TV set, but I am gearing towards the SONY 61hs10.

Your thoughts please.
Thanks.

A progressive scan DVD player basically has a line doulber built into it. The DVDO is just an outboard line doulber. The cost of a good pro-scan DVD player ranges from $700 and up. (Stay away from the Pioneer $350 model) The DVDO runs around $500 to $700 and of course the cost of a DVD player. The TV must be digital with component inputs to use progressive scan. Also I know there were some concerns with ajdusting aspect ratio with the DVDO.

Pro-scan is a definite improvement in picture quality.
