DVD to VHS: is it possible?

Hey all, I'm an English teacher and I show a lot of films to my students. I was wondering if anybody knew how to tape from a DVD. I've heard that it is possible, but I don't know how. I know that there are now copyright protections on discs, but s#&t, it would be so convenient for me if I could figure this out. PLEASE HELP, DLT

There are several dvd players that are allow you to disable or defeat the macrovision feature, put assuming you don't own one of them, you may as well just buy a cheap dvd player and hook it up to the tv at school.

like you've never said a bad word. i particularly liek teachers who let it slip sometimes, lets me know they are human.
And, you can copy to vhs with the APEX dvd player, easily found on eBay.

If you have a old VCR (more then 5 years old) you can try recording through that. The older the VCR the better chances you have for recording.

Just buy an 'image stabilizer' it will remove the macrovision copy protection and let you do what you want. I got mine for about $20 and it runs on a 9V battery. I would post a link, but that would get BANNED find a good search engine like

I bought a small box to skirt the Macrovision. I think it cost about $60, almost the price of a cheap dvd player. I didn't want to jerk my vcrs out of the video loop. It does allow incredibly good looking svhs copies, but all of digital features that dvds have are lost. Tape is still a linear presentation and you cannot navigate around it.
