Wega and Multiple Video Imput Question

DVD Talk Hero
I just got my 36FS16 Wega delivered yesterday. It took a little work to figure out how to hook up everything but not that much.
Regular cable is coming into the VHF/UHF. The TiVo is coming into Auxiliary. One VCR is into Video 2. Another VCR is into Video 3. The combi Pioneer 919 has S-video into Video 1 (for laserdiscs) and the Component Video is into Video 4 (for DVD). I never route any video signals through the receiver. The TV sound is sent to the receiver from the Audio Out (set on fixed). The TV speakers have to be turned off. All other sound from all other components goes to the receiver in the highest quality way for each component in the system. Of course I've also set it up to watch anamorphic DVDs (or I should say I figured out how to do it as it has to be done manually each time). The owner's manual is a good one and is very helpful.
Now all I have to do is reset all the TV and macro settings on the Marantz learning remote and adjust the picture with Video Essentials. But even with the picture not yet really right, my wife is amazed at the picture on the anamorphic Toy Story 2 DVD.

Ok, Scott...if you really wanna see the difference that the 16x9 enhancement makes then do this.
Watch either Toy Story or Bug's Life on regular picture mode, without 16x9 enhancement. This means that the signal coming out of your dvd player should be set to "4:3 Letterbox" Set your color temperature to "cool" and your detail(I forget the name of it but its the last option you have under the picture options menu) and set it to "LOW"....if you set it to HIGH then your picture will look jagged, eventhough you get higher detail.
Ok, once you watch a scene or two in regular mode, go back and set your DVD player to output a 16x9 picture signal, and then set your TV to 16x9 enhancement to "ON." Then go to your picture menu options and set your color temp to "Cool" and your picture detail to "HIGH" Now, it may appear that it makes your picture look smaller but I assure you that the picture size is the same when you are watching the actual movie. Not the dvd menu, and not the movie menus, but the actual movie will be the same! ....if you dont see the picture difference then I don't know what else to tell ya! As long as you are happy then I am happy!
Oh, and a Sony tech told me that you dont have to keep resetting the 16x9 enhancement manually. He said that it has something to do with your channel programming in the menu screen. In fact, I think I will call Sony and find out about that. Their number is 1-800-222-7669
I'll report back later with results.

As far as setting the 16x9 mode manually, I think it depends on the model. I do believe I have to set my 36FS16 every time but the 36FV26 does it automatically. But if there's a way I don't have to set it manually every time, please let me know.
