I had seen a post not long ago stating that the use of an S-cable gives a better picture than using the red, green, blue, copmosite cables. Is this true? Did i make a mistake in setting up my system.

Composite is better! But you probably would not notice a difference unless you have a TV larger then 32" You would definitely see a difference if you have a projection TV.

So it depends... How big is your TV?

You know that is exacly what I thought. I have a Mitsubishi 50705. 50" inch. When I changed over from the itty biddy rca's Toshiba provided with the dvd player to the Tributaries composites the colors and saturation was much better. Thanks for the reply.

I always goof this up but
The R G B are called Component. (This is the best)

The Yellow video is composite.

I hope I got this right!

You're right.
One RCA cable = composite.
One multipin cable = S-Video
Three RCA cables = component

The jump from composite video to S-Video is significant.

The jump from S-Video to component is minor and only worth it if you have all high end equipment.

A good S-Video cable is usually the best option for the majority of people.
