For some reason when I play DTS DVDs, I can't get the DTS decoding to work on my Sony receiver. It won't play any sound at all when the audio setup on my Pannasonic DVD player is set to DTS. Any Help out there???

Couple of questions...

Does the sound work in other applications...IE: Non DTS, TV, etc?

What do you have or how are you inputing the sound from DVD player to reciever?

Which DVD player are you using??

I'm not an expert but once I know these things I'll give it shot.

Mark

Take care of these obvious oversights:
Dolby Digital works? When you say that your audio setup is set to DTS, do mean the DVD-audio or the player-audio?
DVD Player DTS output enabled. (Just because Dolby Digital works doesn't mean DTS is setup.)
Receiver EQ set to Auto Format Decode.
Almost all movies default to the DD format.
Observe if the AFD (blue light) is on.
If you fixed it already, reply back with what you found.

OK Guys,

DD Works, set to Auto format Decode, connected via optical, setup for DTS enabled after viewing menu in DVD setup w/in movie. Hope that helps.
