Hi! I just received the JVC RX-800VBK receiver and although hookup took a long time and added confusion with the video inputs (My Toshiba TV only accepts one or the other - s-vid or composite, but only one at a time.. I had to integrate a JVC switchbox that basically converts all sources to a single S-vid output for the TV). Anyway, it sounds fantastic! For some reason when I play a DTS disc, the opening DTS logo snipit has no sound, but when the movie actually starts, the DTS plays in its full glory. Why won't the DTS play when the DTS logo is on screen?

hmm don't know mine works fine. what movie are you trying? try a different one to see if it works in that.

I was experiencing the problem with Titan AE, which played the dts logo fine in my old Technics receiver with SHAC500D processor. After the logo, the DTS kicks in fine without any problems. It must be the movie because I just tried the DTS track on Road Trip and the DTS logo intro was fine (with the grand piano). ...Curious as to why the DTS logo has no sound on Titan AE; one of my favorite, recent movies.
