JVC RX-6000VBK A/V receiver question

I recently bought a JVC 6000 receiver as a second DD receiver for my system in the basement. But I am having trouble with the center channel output. Even with trying several center channel speakers - I am getting some tinny sound from it - anybody have this receiver or encountered any problems of this kind with this receiver? Any replies are greatly appreciated. Thanks and happy holidays.
