I am looking for a new set of speaker, so far I've listened to The JBL Studio and the Energy Take 5 I was impressed with both sets, I can get the JBL's for $650 and the Take 5 for $550, which do you guys think about these?

I have heard the Energy Take 5 and have been very impressed, but I also own JBL S-Seris speakers and am very impressed. I would like to know which JBL models in particular you are thinking of getting. Both of these speaker lines offer excellent clarity from their tweeters. The Energy speakers tend to have a very warm sound while the JBL's have a brighter sound. With the Energy speaker you are not going to get as much of a full range effect. It always sounded as is there was a serious lack of midrange coming from the speakers because they are satellites. The bass from the included sub helps a lot but just didn't seem to give a full enough effect. The JBLs I have are 3-way speakers and really have a good full sound coming from them. I prefer bright speakers so the JBLs did not bother me and I really thought the components used in the JBLs were excellent. Overall the JBLs offered me excellent full range sound at a very affordable price while the Energy speakers were very warm and small in size. Both speakers are good sound at a great price and the only real way for you to decide is to listen to them to yourself. Without knowing more about the size room, the reciever, and any other constraints you have it is hard to reccomend one over the other. All I can offer you at this point is that I really love my JBLs and was happy that they offered me the full range sound I was looking for at a very reasonable price.
