I recently purchased a panasonic dvdrv30. I was wondering if it was possible to hook up the home dvd player to a soundblaster Live 5.1 and then use a good 5 or 6 computer speaker setup. I could use the speakers for both games on my computer and watch the dvd's on my regular tv. Is this possible and if it is what type of wires do I need? Thanks for the help.

I was under the impression that the SoundBlaster is a PCI card and not an external decoder, in which case there should be no way to connect an external component. If the card has a digital audio input and speaker outputs, then yes, it would be possible. If not, I believe Cabridge Soundowrks makes an external amplified computer speaker 5.1 setup that would work with both a computer and a DVD player.
