Hi,
I just set up my new 27" television and am having trouble hooking up from my Pioneer DV-333 DVD player to the the component input on my television. I'm using the rca cables (with gold plated ends) to do the hook up but the video I'm getting is black, white, and green. The cables are specifically marked video, r-audio, and l-audio with the audio cables being much thinner than the video.
Is my problem my cables??
Thanks alot for all your help.

The cables you are using aren't meant to be used with component connections.
Get a set of component cables or use 3 separate 75 ohm video cables. I got a 6ft set of Acoustic Research component cables for under $40 from www.consumer-direct.com and have been very happy with them. You can also use 3 video cables, just make sure they are really for video.

Damn, I love this forum...
I came here to ask the exact same question that was asked here, and the answer was already posted.
Thanks, works great!!
BTW, I bought 3 gold-plated video cords from Radio Shack for $4.99 each. Not bad.

Hey,
Thanks for the response. Can you tell me what the product # is of the cables you purchased at radio shack. I was in there earlier and they said they didn't have video cables to use for component connections.
Thanks,

They didn't know for me either. Get three of your choice of the following:
3 ft - 15-1518
6 ft - 15-1519
12 ft - 15-1520

They were clueless when I mentioned component too... just get 3 of the single gold tipped video cable and you'll be a-ok.
Sorry, I dont have the numbers, but I tossed out the packages.
