One of the main selling features of the Phillips DVD825 when I bought it 2 years ago was that you could upgrade it just by popping in a CD and letting the machine upgrade itself. Nice idea, but I've seen no follow-through by Phillips vis-a-vis making such upgrade disks available. Now my machine is refusing to properly output DTS signals to my DTS receiver, so I either have to get the upgrade disk or just replace the player.
Does anyone know how or where to get an upgrade disk for this machine?

Hey Runngdog,
I just searched the Philips USA and Philips International sites, but I could not find anything on any upgrade disks being released.
Have you tried contacting them via the support numbers in the manual?
Hope this helps!

Thanks, zkmusa.
Sometimes the most obvious answers elude me -- and yours couldn't be more obvious, since Phillips puts a toll-free Help Line number right on the cover of the 825's Owners Manual. I called them this morning (Sunday), got through without any waiting at all, and my upgrade CD will be on its way to me tomorrow. Hopefully that will resolve the problem I've been having -- if not, my kids will get a DVD player (sans DTS capability) for Christmas.

If you've got a cd burner you can go here http://members.tripod.com/flash_cd/ get the files and make your own. I did mine this way and it worked fine.
