My 115 is starting to exhibit this problem after only 14 months. This is really their fault, and I don't feel I should pay for the repair. Has anyone been able to get them to fix it for free? This is just plain bad components. When I buy a piece of electronics- I expect it to last for 5-10 years before it kicks the bucket, not 14 months!

Unless you have an extended warranty, you will be stuck with the expense of reparing the machine!!! I never buy into these warranties and that is the chance I take....if an item breaks down outside of the limited warranty then I am screwed!!!

BTW....my Panasonic A110 is going strong after 28 months!!!

I had the same problem with my Panasonic DVD310. You can see my problem and an explaination on this forum. Panasonic did replace the optical sensor thingy. I split the cost of fixing it with Panasonic. The thing that really gets me is that after 5 months my DVD player is acting up again. This DVD player was not a cheap when I first bought it. I am thinking that there is a fundamental flaw in their optical sensors.

It seems this part fails after about a year or so, and it will do so even after it gets repaired! So even if I get it repaired, it will fail again in another year. Thats why I am not going to spend a dime getting it fixed. I will be courteous and explain my problem to the repair center, and if needed I will send a letter to the president of the company, and be persistant. I want them to fix it, and fix it for free, or replace it.
I have already resigned myself to having to buy a new one- not a Panasonic!
