So my BD player (LG BD270) decides that it simply won't play some discs. It will read them and confirm it's a blu-ray but it never moves on passed the loading screen and usually freezes at that point. The weird thing is that most of these discs worked for me the first time I watched them. Titles include The Dark Knight, Black Swan, and the Alien Anthology. I am planning on upgrading to a better and region free player soon but until then it's annoying. The firmware isn't the issue as it's up to date.

Any ideas?

I would try plugging a USB drive in the back of the player. Perhaps it's some kind of memory issue.

I had the same thing happen and ended up buying a Sony BDP-S580. So far, this one has handled all of the discs my previous player could not (mostly Universal/Focus Features titles).

Try disabling BD-Live content on your player.

My Panny had the same issue with all Universal titles. Always worked when I turned it off the network access...
