Something else I noticed about my reciever (the Sony HTD-DW820) is when I watch something in DD or DTS 5.1, on the reciever it will say "Dolby Digital 3/2" or "DTS 3/2"
Anyone know what that means?
I have an optical cable connecting the DVD and reciever, should I be using the 5.1 connecter instead of optical?
This is the system I have: http://www.sel.sony.com/SEL/consumer...td-dw820.shtml

3/2 is just another way to say 5.x. The
"3" is the front three speakers (FR, C, FL) and the "2" is the two rear (RR, RL). I'm not going to worry about the ".1" for this discussion.
