need advice on my system

I have a pair of klipsch ksb1.1 bookshelf, a NAD304 int amp, another pair of infinity. i usually hook up both pairs of speakers to my NAD. however i am not satisfied with the bass of those bookshelfs. they simply didnt have the thud i was looking for. i listen to music a lot and dont really watch movies that much. now i want to upgrade my speakers there are 2 paths i can go
1) buy a klipsch 10 inch sub(not too sure how i am going to hook it up to my int amp since it doesnt have a sub out but i heard there are ways to get around that
2) get a pair of paradigm mini monitors. i was told they have very good bass for bookshelf speakers.
the 2 routes costs approx the same. just need some advice with which route to go.
