Haggling with B.B on TV's and extras?
Hello
Tomorrow we're going to B.B to look at TV's since Mr. Clumsy here broke our current 2.5yr old 52" Sony. The wife likes going there as much as I like going to look at womens shoes. I've had to do about a months research in one week and pretty much have it down to three models with a price range of around $1500.00. All three models are "On Sale" per B.B aleready.
However I know and can get a better price and save (Taxes) more by going the Amazon and even Crutchfield way. In fact I already figured I can get the TV plus a 3D Blu-Ray Player and still come under the total from B.B ordering online.
But the wife can be at sometimes in a, "no...lets just go ahead and get it and not deal with all this other cr#p" now moment. But she's also "price conscious" and may try for a lower price. The Sony we bought from B.B had one of those ridiculous insane mark downs for three days around Thanksgiving ($900 off a $2600). What's the chance of doing some price haggling or extras like a Blu-Ray Player and even 3D Glasses thrown in for a already marked down TV? The Blu-Ray at B.B is $50 more than Amazon and the 3D Glasses (Panasonic) are just an insane price to me.

1st...you can ask for a price match. Just take in the Amazon or Crutchfield net print. Or have it bookmarked on your smart phone. Or walk them over to the computer department and look it up together. BB is really strange with price matching. It is an individual store/manager thing. One store I have really good luck with another won't even price match their own web site! My recommendation if you really want to haggle is do it like a used car. Be very nice. Be patient. Walk out at least once (go have lunch and come back if needed).
2nd...don't make the haggle part of it the end all be all. Your wife is on board with you getting a new TV. That is rare. So don't blow it!! Take her to a nice lunch. Buy her, her favorite movie for the "first watch on the new TV"...etc, etc....There is plenty of time for you to enjoy the TV your way. Just be glad she is on board and go with it!!

I've not see a Best Buy or any other store for that matter, that will price match Amazon.com. I've asked several places, and they won't do it. I don't believe there's much haggling to do with the 3-D glasses either. Those Panasonic glasses are some that take batteries to work.
I'll make this suggestion though..........
A little while back, they had a deal on a whole 3-D setup. If the deal is over, it may be easier to get them to work with this instead of the other. They had a 47" LG 3-D (LED, I think) tv, an LG 3-D blu ray player, and four pairs of passive 3-D glasses for $999.99. I'll admit that LG wouldn't have been my first choice in tvs, but it had the best 3-D picture of any I've seen, except for the Imax theater. The 3-D was better than Sony's, Panasonic's, Samsung's, etc. As I said, it was the best 3-D I've seen.
My uncle bought an LG plasma tv (not 3-D). I also don't like plasmas, at all. But his LG has a pretty good picture. LG is making a name for themselves in HT circles. If I was looking for 3-D, I'd definitely consider this setup. If not, I'd still go with DLP..........
Good luck!

Well we haven't gone yet...someone (or as my wife described B#T*C%) rear-ended her last night at a stop light. First car accident in 20 years and she just got this Nissan Mirano 2009 last year. She's not in too good of mood right now.
I'll give B.B a shot and I also don't need to have the TV A.S.A.P like today or tomorrow. In fact I posted a question over at the AVS Forum about ordering TV's from Amazon and the response has been above positive. But if the prices are close like a hundred or so the wife might say get it. In any case we'll try for a few things either some off a 3D Blu-ray Player, glasses or something. I'll post the results after we go today or tomorrow.

This is probably the same tv I mentioned above, only without the 3-D blu ray player. The glasses come with it though. http://www.amazon.com/LG-Infinia-47L...292974&sr=1-27 You have to add it to your basket to see the price. That usually means a pretty good price...........

We never went out to check the TVs anywhere. She really didn't want to go out after the accident and told me just go and buy one or order it. I waited till the Sunday sales came out but didn't see anything. I'd already looked at the sets I had in mine so I went ahead and ordered off Amazon.
I will say this...for the price of the set itself at B.B....I found the same one on Amazon...plus added a 3D Blu-ray Player...plus (2) 3Active 3D glasses. Not to mention the $140 in sales tax saved.

Almost every place you can haggle ... the technique may vary.
The deal for TV/BR Player/Glasses come and go so. For BB look thru past few weeks of flyer if you have access to them - if you can find a deal with TV/player/glasses - take it with you -say you missed the deal is there any thing they can do to match that. If they feel you are sincere about buying they may help. I have made that work at other shopping experience.
It seems you are leaning towards B/M Stores as opposed to going online - Take a look at Sears ( I know not exactly a TV paradise) they have packages you mentioned. Plus they ( and many B/M ) have 18/24/36 month 0% financing - you may come out ahead. Good luck
