Sony STRDH520. Cannot receive other components unless blu ray is powered on
I just purchased and hooked up a Sony STRDH520 receiver. It plays blu rays just great. If I power on the blu ray player, my receiver and tv are powered on as well. But if I try to use my ps3 or regular dvd player nothing happens. I have to have my blu ray powered on as well and then I will get the signal from ps3 player or DVD player.
I don't get it. I seem to have all the HDMI cables hooked up properly, and HDMI is the only thing connecting the devices. I have tried switching the HDMI ports for the blu ray and ps3 but the same issue occurs.
I have the Sony receiver connected to a Samsung blur ray player and a Samsung TV. I tried using my other blu ray player in substitution, but the same problem occurred.
Any ideas?

Is there some Samsung link that is interfering? (Anynet?) I think that may be it rather than the receiver. Maybe it has a setting that will allow you to use the TV without the BDp.

Oh man, you just made my day.
Yeah, my blu ray player had anynet on. Turned it off and I am everything is working great.
Thanks so much! I wouldn't have figured that out on my own.
