I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with AC line conditioners? Specifically I have the following problem and was wondering if an AC line conditioner would solve it.
When watching TV I get a little white "blip" across the screen when my furnace, central air, dryer, etc. kick on or off. It only happens when I'm watching TV - not during a DVD. An electrician told me it is probably a ground problem where it is jumping from my electrical line to my cable TV line since my cable TV is grounded to my electrical box outside. I called my cable TV company (AT&T), they came out and replaced my underground line but said the ground was perfectly acceptable (i.e. within "code") and they wouldn't adjust it.
Anyway, I currently use an APC Professional Surge Arrest (my cable runs through it) for electrical spikes, lightning, etc. but it does nothing for my little white "blip". I was curious if AC line conditioners, like the Monster Power Reference PowerCenter or the Panamax Max lines would prevent this.
Any experience/suggestions/comments anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yes. You definately want to get a line conditioner. I have the Monster 5000, and I highly reccomend it, if you can justify the price. I used to have the Panamax MAX1500, and I don't think it is as good. You also want to get a good unit because aside of the annoying noise/pop the AC unit is creating, it is also very hard on your equipment.

I own a Monster Line conditioner/Surge protector and (I think) all components run through it. And I still have the problem of a clicking noise when light switches are operated in the house. This occurs even when my Reciever is off. My only recent change was to install the 100 W Pioneer Sub Amp (recommended on this site) to drive 2 Bass Shakers. I don't think the "click" occured before this.

I have a Panamax 1000+ and it does the job nicely.
Green, what problems did you have with your panamax? (why do you think the other is better?) Also why did you replace it?

I also have a couple of panamax 1000+'s, they work great. I also installed hospital certified electrical outlets to plug them into. The wiring in my house is 32 years old and my theater is CLEAN sounding and looking since I have done all this.
Green - I would also like to know what you do not like about the panamax? If you look at the written specs on each, the monster does not look like a better unit.

Thanks for the input.
Obviously I would rather spend $200 +/- (Panamax 1000+) on something that will do the trick rather than $300 and up (the Monsters). So the question now becomes where's the best online place to buy a Panamax 1000+?
Thanks again!

$300 and up for the Monsters? Globalmart.com has the HT1000 for $99.99 plus shipping. If you need more outlets and/or are running high current power amps, try the HT2000 (I think they have it for about $30 more). I'm in no way affiliated with Globalmart.

I got mine at http://www.onecall.com
for around $170 IMHO best bang for the buck. Monster has always seemed more like advertising hype to me, that is why they cost more.

colin - When I said $300 for the Monsters I was referring to the HTS2500 and up. That and I only had a Crutchfield catalog in font of me. I never really considered the HTS1000 or 2000. I gave globalmart.com a look and was surprised by their prices on Monsters. They are the only site I've seen that sells the Monsters for less than the Panamaxs.
4KRG - I'm going to give onecall.com a look tonight.
Thanks again for the input!

OK. I checked out the Panamaxs at onecall.com and now have the following question. Which is better, the Max500DBS or Max1000+? According to the specs available at onecall, they are the same except that the 500DBS has satellite and phone connections but has only 7 outlets to the 1000+'s 8 outlets. I'm thinking, if the performance is the same, why not get the 500DBS so if I ever add a satellite, PVR, etc. then I'll have the connections. Of course I'll have no where to plug them in
. The price is roughly the same - the 1000+ was about $9 less. Any thoughts?

I was looking on the Panamax site and noticed they do not say the 1000+ has delayed on for two of the circuits.
My 1000+ does and connect my amp and sub to them.
