Hi,
I was wondering for those who know DVD players whether the audio dynamic range control on DVD players will reduce the audio range when listening with the analog stereo outputs(to a Pro-Logic receiver).
Usually, the dynamic range control is a digital-feature but I don't know whether the range compression will be preserved when converting from digital to analog (by the built-in 5.1 to 2 channel decoder found in all player).

I would appreciate any info anyone might have to offer.

Also I would like to know whether you've tried this feature and how well it works on your player.
Thanks
Andy

All DVD players have built-in DD decoding for atleast stereo. So, yes, the dynamic range control on your DVD player will affect the sound coming out of the analog RCA jacks.

Thanks.
The dynamic range of Dolby Surround is less than DD but I would like to reduce it even more if I can (live in an apartment and don't want to upset the neighbours )
