I'm a very picky person, and worrisome...anyhow, my TV will display some sort of flicker on the left corner of the screen when turning on, and it takes a good 10 secs before there is picture at times. Is this a common occurence amongst WEGA tv's?

It takes some time for my WEGA to display a picture too. So I think that's normal. I don't know about a flicker. I think I get that too, I'm not sure.

When I first bought the set, I was getting a thin rolling horizontal line. As time passed, however, the line went away.

I hae a Wega. I haven't noticed a flicker, but it does take a few seconds for the picture to appear.

Same as above, a while to come on, but I haven't noticed a flicker.

Haven't notice this on mine.
I'll take a closer look tonight.

On the other hand, when playing DVDs,
when it is black, the black level in not constant across the screen for me.

It is blacker (kind of a wine cup shape) in the left middle part of the TV.
Very subtle though.

Thanks I appreciate your replies. I have read some where that there are "good" and "bad" batches of TV's coming out of SONY. Is this the case?

I've got a 27" and I don't have any of the probs listed here (does take a few secs to fire up). How do you have the colors tempered (ie are u using a preset or your own mix)?

Yes, when I turn on the TV, there is a flicker (white mark) on the left bottom and right bottom of the screen.

Only stays for a split second.

Is this not normal?
