Differences with players when on netflix

I've had 3 different blu ray players in the last 3 months and noticed a big difference between the 3 brands, that I don't find mentioned in reviews.

When on Netflix, the Sony will only allow me to view movies already in my cue. Meaning I that without using a computer, it's unusable.

The LG is better and allows me to also search through movie genres and load them into my cue.

The Samsung did both and also allowed me to search for movies by typing in titles.

These seem to be some pretty big differences that I never hear talked about when discussing bluray players and don't know if there's a way to tell without buying a player and hooking it up.

The sony was bought to replace the defective samsung but, because of this problem it is going to be returned.Maybe I'll try getting the same model samsung I had before.

Also notice similar differences when going to Pandora.

Any thoughts?

You may have to do a little more digging for that information than just "stock" reviews. There is significant differences between my PS3, Wii and iPhone app. Yet they are all labeled "netflix".

I maybe getting a BD player. I have a PS3 in the media room, but might move that to the living room and put a stand alone player in there so will need Netflix on it. But I also prefer analog audio outs, so that is going to limit my choices somewhat (basically eliminate Sony & LG).

I wonder if the amount apps on the player has any correlation to the user interactivity of each app. The samsung unit had the fewest apps, but had the most features per app. The sony has the most apps and, but is the least user interactive. Might have to do with the amount of hard drive space on the player?

More like: how much time the programmers put into the apps.

Panasonic's blu-ray players won't let you search either. it's just put the move in the queue and it shows up.
