I don't know if it is the player or the dvd's. When I had Escape From Planet of the Apes in it, it refused to eject it or do anything else at the end. I had to turn the player off and back on to get it to work. On T2:UE There appears to be a layer change at around one hour thirty-nine minutes on the special addition DTS. It skips ahead almost two minutes at that point, bypassing the scene where the Terminator is disecting his own arm. I then tried to go into the menu which acted really funny. However, if I use frame review to go back after the skip, I can watch the two minutes. I'm wondering if I should take the player back of if the disc's are the problme.

I had similar problems with mine. I took it along with the DVD's that were problematic to the store where I purchased it, and it screwed up when played through Phillips but not through anything else. They gave me a full refund and I bought a Yamaha.
