My 10 year old Mitsu is on its last leg. I have been reviewing many web sites for selections and have really liked the looks/cost of the Panasonic PV-V4660. Any and all recs, suggestions, pros/cons are appreciated.

I'd reccomend the Mits HS-U776. I've been using it for about a year, it's my fourth
S-VHS vcr and I really like it. I think it
has the best price/performance ratio around
for a S-VHS.

I would recommend the JVC 9500 or 9600. A couple of years ago I took a tape and a Video Essentials ld to a local independent dealer. I was planning on buying the top of the line Mits if it could handle the test patterns that I had previously recorded on the tape and the recordings I would make with the Mits.
It could not handle either, there were jagged horizontal lines through the vertical lines pattern. I could not get rid of them. I also tried a mid priced Panasonic, but it looked soft and did not have flying erase heads.
I have a 9500, it has the ability to tilt the drum which gives you true flowing 1/3, 1/2, 2x, 3x, 5x, reverse or forward and beyond tape speeds that you will ever want to trade in for the single frame click click click click ever again, although it can click click click as well. They are not that expensive anymore, it has a the best remote
since the 6700, so check it out. Once you have gotten around the macrovision it can make outstanding copies of dvds.

Throttle, more throttle. Level out! Level out! Fly smart and stay away from the Bushes!
