What AVR has the best HDMI switching?

I want to upgrade from my 10 year old Marantz. I want to upgrade so that I can take advantage of lossless bluray audio and the simplicity of HDMI wiring. But in researching AVR's the achilies heal of the current recievers seems to be the HDMI switching. Amazon, Crutchfield, and AVS Forum all have various accounts of Dennon, Onkyo, Harmon Kardon, Pioneer, Yamaha, etc exhibiting "problems" with the HDMI functions. Is there one "war horse" reciever out there that isn't going to have a lot of problems?

I'd stick to Marantz. They make some nice sounding units. That or H/K or maybe Denon.

I have to ask, what speakers/sub do you have?

This is one of the receivers "of the day"...

I kind of like this Denon....

Marantz has a nice line as well....look around....

In case you didn't read the first part of your post, in which you posted the answer, here it is a little plainer:

Nope, sorry dude.

Most of the problems seem to be with cable/sat boxes. A lot of the fault is on that side, not that that helps if you have a problem.

I was hoping there was somthing out there I was overlooking.

I have Definitive Technology C/L/R's and DefTech Mythos surrounds and my Veolodyne subwoofer. I need a new sub to go with the reciever.

I suppose if you're going HDMI you may want to consider 1.4 so that it can handle 3D signals if you ever choose to go that route.

What's wrong with the sub? Velodynes are too expensive in my estimation, but they are mostly pretty decent subs. And you already have it.

I am in a similar boat, just moved and want to "clean things up" and use all HDMI and switch and my old HT Receiver won't do it. I was looking at this one http://www.amazon.com/Denon-AVR-791-Multi-Source-Multi-Zone-supporting/dp/B003H04Q9G/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1281662583&sr=1-1
I have Klipsch stuff, KSW-12 for my sub, and KSC series for the rest.

It's only 80 watts and my new HT room is much bigger than my old one.

That Denon 791 does look very good. I don't see any negative reviews on it. Nor the 990 or 991. Thanks for the tip.
