My DVD player, Panasonic A310, has developed the following problem: It will not read and begin playing a DVD. It does read and play CD's. However, upon inserting a DVD, the player spins for a while, then just stops. It never does the "initial read" to identify the disc as a DVD. The manufacturer was absolutlely no help. Has anyone else experiencced this problem (The player is only 2 years old. If so, what did you do ?

My guess is the laser pick up has went bad and needs to be replaced. This is a known problem with the Panasonic A110 and A310 players. The cost of the parts is about $90 call Panasonic back up and tell them you will not pay for laber. They are well aware of the problem. I used to have a URL that had all the info you will need but can't find it right now.
