Uhhhh... I don't believe that Sony will EVER make a multi-region BD or SD player.

Um, out of the box? From an authorized USA Sony dealer?

You asked if there would ever be a Sony Blu-ray player that was region free out of the box. There won't be, ever, for the reason I stated. In addition to being a movie studio, Sony is a substantial partner in the group that created Blu-ray and its zone system. Sony will never release a region-free Blu-ray player. To do so would violate their own licensing terms.
How is holding up two hacked/modified players as an example in any way relevant?

I don't get it - you "animatedude" are the one who asked the question and now you are the one who seems to be arguing that one DOES exist - even though you are obviously talking hacked players.
Do you often argue with yourself? Is it enjoyable? Maybe it's THE thing to do in the Middle East!?

Where in the Middle East do you live? By chance, can you give me any details on the Lebanese DVD of BOSTA, if it has English subtitles and if there's a place to order it online to ship to the USA...

I don't get why it's hard for you to understand that a company that co-created the region restriction concept would then sell a player that circumvents its own restrictions. As a MOVIE STUDIO Sony does not want players that circumvent movie distribution agreements that are a major source of its profits.
It would be like DirecTV selling a satellite receiver that lets you receive its signals for free.

Apparently the President of Sony did tweet the PS4 will be region free. Of course there's no specifics on whether or not that means games only, or movies, or both, or what.

Think they'll ever have blu-ray disc changers? All my dvd players are 5-disc changers and it appears nobody is making them anymore.

You mean: again?
They've all died out. Sony bad a 400 disc BD changer or three. Check used type places if you really want.

As Sony was the major contributor in the Blu-Ray spec, which set the region coding in the first place, why would they produce a player to bypass it?

Well, they HAVE shown many times that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, latest case being licensing some of their movies out to Twilight Time in limited mail-order-only editions when they SHOULD be promoting their own format by releasing as many titles as possible themselves.
Toshiba was the main company behind the standard DVD spec, and most of their HD-DVD players could be easily modified for all-region.

If I'm not mistaken, I think every HDDVD player was region-free right out of the box. I recall the only issue was the audio was 4% faster on the overseas discs because of the PAL/NTSC difference in frame-rate.
