I was thinking of upgrading from my 27" Panasonic TV to the Wega KV-27FS12, but I have recently heard of a few problems the Wegas have and I was wondering if someone could fill me in on whether these are legitimate problems.
1.)That cable looks poor
2.)That VCR looks even worse
3.)That black level is uneven when watching letterbox movies on DVD.
While the main purpose of upgrading televisions is that I want to get the most out of my DVD's, I don't want a poor picture when I'm watching regular television either. And I do quite a bit of recording on my VCR as well. And certainly if I'm going to shell out 600 bucks on a new TV to make DVD more enjoyable, I dont want to be distracted by uneven blacks. One last question, would cable television actually look worse on a Wega then on my 2-year old Panasonic? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

1) I have digital cable running to my Wega, and it looks great to me.
2) Movies that play in my VCR only look bad because I watch too many DVDs
3) I haven't noticed the borders of letterbox movies to be uneven in any way.
Of course I am not a expert by any means, and definately not the most knowledgable member of this forum, just my observations.
