Looking to upgrade my LCD...

Hello all. I am in the midst of trying to upgrade my current 26" LCD, and have quite possibly narrowed it down to a few available models. However, I am very unfamiliar with televisions and their specs, hence why I am after some help.

I should preface this by saying that I am a student, with not a ton of available room and not a ton of available cash. So, while these models may not seem particularly special to some of you, they would make sense for someone like myself. My main draw for upgrading is for blu rays, if that matters.

These are the models that I am considering. The potential prices are in parentheses.

40" Sony Bravia XBR ($600)
KDL-40XBR6
1080p/120Hz

37" LG ($450)
37LH20-UA
720p/60Hz

47" LG ($650)
47LH30
1080p/60Hz

Now, obviously, the Sony Bravia has the best specs (1080p/120Hz) and a good price tag ($600), but it is significantly less in size to the 47" LG. However, that model is only 60Hz, which while I admit I don't know the difference between it and 120Hz, I know some consider it extremely substantial. The 37" LG is more in my budget, but does not have stellar specs.

Is this the right thinking? And does anyone have any familiarity with any of these models?

Right now you can get the 50" 720p Panasonic for $599. I would take that over the others.

There are a few places that were featuring that set. I know a local place here is advertising about another 25 being available for sale. If you can't find one locally, you amy want to check out Rowe Photo and Video here in Rochester via the internet and see of they still have one.

Panasonic TC-42PX14 42" is good option, I think you should also consider Samsung SyncMaster P2450H display TFT 24 "widescreen 1920 x 1080 300 cd/m2 70000:1 (dynamic) 2 ms 0265 mm HDMI, DVI-D, VGA black rose.
