Mit 65711 CRT RPTV & HDFury 2 = PERFECT!
Last week hooked up my Panny BD30, Tosh HDA1 and my Motorola DCX-3200 HDCable Box via HDMI to my Onyko 605 A/V receiver via HDMI to the Fury that is connected to the DTV side of the TV w/the Fury
's RGB cables and the Fury switched to YUV...couldn't be happier.
The only bug I have is the Fury is sometimes having a hard time recognizing the Cable Box, probably the cheapass way it's built.
I've only had the component side calibrated and can't wait for CraigR to calibrate the DTV side, which is where the Fury is connected to.
If you've been on the fence about this, now the time to go for it, you won't be disappointed.
A couple notes of interest, first, I did have to exchange the first one thru Monoprice (you have 21 days to do it) that stopped working, but the 2nd one works perfectly.
And second, I couldn't get a picture on the BD30 player. It seems some of these BD players default to 1080p when you connect the HDMI cable. Well, since I only have 1080i, no picture. Easy solution, hook up the BD player to another TV with only HDMI. Practice getting into the menu to get 1080i. Copy down those steps exactly, rehook it to your RPTV with the blank screen. The menu is there, you just can't see it. Use the remote to get to the menu, do what you copied down and then...BINGO...you have 1080i and a picture.
It seems my cable box does that occassionally too and I have to do the same thing, but it's worth it.
It's nice to now see all my 4x3 movies/TV shows upscaled/upconverted to 1080i...and my HD players playing exactly what audio they're supposed to. i.e. DTS-MA, TruHD and DDPlus!
