PS3 120 or BR player for movie watching?

I bought a sony LCD bundle deal at BB Friday and it came with a PS3 120 plus a movie and game. I really see myself using the PS3 for movies more than games and was considering possibly selling the PS3 and in turn purchasing a bluray player in the $100 range (with a deal). What are everyones thoughts on PS3 vs stand alone player?

You may want to do a search as this has been discussed in depth. Personally, if you got a free PS3, just keep it. It's still one of the best (if not the best) blu ray players out there. Faster load up speeds, and nearly glitch free compared to strandalones.

It really comes down to you and the kind of Blu-ray player you want. The PS3 will play all the blu-rays you can throw at it, and it has regular firmware updates to keep it that way. It also supports BD-Live if that's important for you. Plus it has the option of playing games.

On the negative, you either have to use the controller or buy the remote.

Personally, I'm glad I went with the PS3.

Well a year ago the PS3 was considered one of the best but I don't think it holds true now unless gaming is a priority. I agree that your better off just keeping it, you wont get a better player in the $100 range.
The only real drawback I see is you have to get a a adaptor for a universal remote.
